The Provincial Assessor’s Office, together with the Municipal Assessors of the Province of Samar, will conduct a series of public consultations this August on the Proposed Schedule of Market Values (SMV) for real properties in the province.

The consultations are being held pursuant to Republic Act No. 12001, or the Real Property Valuation and Assessment Reform Act (RPVARA), which mandates a market-based modernization of property valuation and requires local government units to update their Schedules of Market Values. Under the law, the SMV serves as the single valuation base for real property-related taxes and other government transactions, making it essential for residents, property owners, and stakeholders to understand and weigh in on the proposed schedule before it is finalized.

Schedule of Consultations:

• August 13, 2026 (1:00 P.M.) — Sports Center, Sta. Margarita, Samar
• August 19, 2026 (2:00 P.M.) — Samar Convention Center, Catbalogan City, Samar
• August 21, 2026 (2:00 P.M.) — Calbiga Municipal Auditorium, Calbiga, Samar
